Investment Team

Mr. Brown is a Managing Director of TBG. Mr. Brown has over 15 years experience in private equity, senior and subordinated debt investing and finance. Mr. Brown has responsibility for sourcing, evaluating, executing and monitoring TBG’s equity and debt investments. Mr. Brown is Chairman of the Board of Directors for TBG Specialty Lending. Mr. Brown has also served as a member and observer of several Boards of Directors, including as a Board of Directors observer for TBG NMS for the past 4 years.

Prior to joining TBG in 2011, Mr. Brown was a Principal at Patriot Capital Funding and its successor by merger, Prospect Capital Corporation, from 2005 through 2011. While at Patriot and Prospect, Mr. Brown sourced, led over 20 debt and equity investments in lower middle-market companies. Prior to joining Patriot in 2005, Mr. Brown was a Vice President in GE Capital’s Global Sponsor Finance group from 2002 through 2005, where he executed and monitored numerous senior debt investments in middle-market companies in private equity backed companies. Mr. Brown began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1995 and spent time in both the Assurance and Transaction Services practice

Mr. Brown received a Bachelor of Science in Business at Lehigh University and an MBA with honors from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
