Investment Team

Mr. Dwyer is a Managing Director of TBG and was a founding Industry Partner in Fund I since 2004. Mr. Dwyer has substantial experience in private equity and operations of insurance, reinsurance and brokerage companies. Mr. Dwyer was TBG’s most active Industry Partner for Fund I, sourcing and consulting to TBG on a number of transactions, including his lead involvement in sourcing, diligencing and executing TBG’s investments in Integro and Ironshore. Mr. Dwyer is a member of the Investment Committee and has responsibility for financial services transactions as well as insurance diligence and programs across TBG’s portfolio companies, especially in healthcare services. Mr. Dwyer is a member of the Boards of Directors of Old American Holdings LLC, Dowling & Partners, Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd. and ProSight Specialty Group, Inc. and is Chairman of the Board of Old American County Mutual Fire Insurance Company. Mr. Dwyer has also acted as an advisor to Lazard Corporate Partners, Century Capital Management and Goldman Sachs on private equity financial services transactions over the past 13 years.

Mr. Dwyer was the President of URSA Advisors, Inc., a reinsurance consulting and advisory firm since 1997. Prior to URSA, for one year, Mr. Dwyer was President and CEO of Signet Star Holdings, Inc., a reinsurance subsidiary of W.R. Berkeley Corp. From 1970 to 1996, Mr. Dwyer was a senior executive with Marsh & McLennan’s division Guy Carpenter & Company, Inc. (“Guy Carpenter”), most recently as an Executive Vice President and Director. He served as Head of Guy Carpenter's North American Brokering Operations and was responsible for Property, Casualty, Ocean Marine, Life, Health, Facultative and London Market Wholesale brokering.

Mr. Dwyer received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University and is a Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter and an ARIAS-US Certified Arbitrator.
